Classicalmusicreview.net is a site dedicated to professional reviews of classical recordings and performances. The principle reviewer is Tom Manoff.

Manoff was the classical critic for NPR’s All Things Considered from 1985 to 2012. He also wrote for the New York Times and The Register Guard. Manoff is the author of The Music Kit  (W.W. Norton, 1976, 1984, 1998, 2004), a top selling college text for music fundamentals. He also wrote Music: A Living Language (W.W. Norton, 1982), a highly acclaimed music appreciation text, the first from a major publisher to integrate classical, pop, jazz and world styles in one comprehensive book.

Manoff attended the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied composition with Ludmila Uhlehla, keyboard improvisation with Bronson Regan, orchestration with Nicholas Flagello, and conducting with Hugh Ross. Manoff’s compositions include various styles from film to classical. Among these were the music for the Oscar-winning Down and Out in America and Honor So Sublime Perection performed at Tanglewood.
